(ECR, Booth #103) Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions, announces today that it will be displaying its SEPARIO angio set, for angiography and cardiology examinations, including stenting procedures and electrophysiology procedures (EP), at ECR 2010. The angio set is part of Agfa HealthCare’s extensive offering of Surgical Procedure Sets on display at ECR.
Agfa HealthCare first introduced its new line of universal Surgical Procedure Sets (which include disposable drapes and gowns for surgery environments) in January and will be displaying these solutions at the exhibition and anticipate their availability on the European market in early Q2, under the company's own brand label: SEPARIO. Like all SEPARIO solutions, the angio set offers a no-compromise sterile environment. The whole surface of the company's drapes - not just the incision point - is considered a "critical zone".SEPARIO offers users comfort, strength, fluids handling and impermeability, enabling care facilities to meet health and hygiene standards and support the well-being of their patients and staff.
Specifically, Agfa HealthCare's angiography and cardiology examinations set is designed for operations which require a high quality, flexible draping solution. It includes a large angio drape, a table cover, towels and tape strips. The highly absorbent, large surface of the angio drape makes it appropriate for many kinds of angiographic and cardiac interventions, including femoral and axillary approaches. Extra-absorbent zones around the two incision points take care of any blood and fluids, for maximum convenience and hygiene. With its extensive plasticized edges, it can be used on all kinds of radiography tables. The angio set can be completed with an angio pouch for holding catheters and guide wires, increasing convenience for the surgeon.
Agfa HealthCare's SEPARIO range of products are designed to meet the increasing demands set out by hygiene standards enforced in the healthcare sector worldwide. Many of these new requirements focus on creating improved bacterial barriers, especially during surgery. With recent research showing that textile products have much lower barrier properties against infection - Agfa HealthCare has chosen to focus its efforts on single-use gowns and drapes made from laminates and non-woven materials. Agfa HealthCare's new consumables will be distributed via its extensive global logistical network, built on the distribution of medical film.
"The introduction of SEPARIO to the European market today reflects our conviction that we have a portfolio which is of a high quality and will be in strong demand on a European and global basis", states Dirk Debusscher Vice President Imaging Division of Agfa HealthCare. "We are confident that our new offering will meet and exceed the requirements of hygiene and safety standards around the world, while enabling surgeons to perform procedures comfortably".
